내안에교회(Naeane Church) 담임목사 최재곤은 가족치료 전공 목회상담 전문가이자 SNS 기반 온라인 교회 개척자입니다.

■ 내면의 문제에서 시작된 여정

어릴 때부터 죄책감과 열등감이 내면 깊이 자리 잡고 있었습니다. 전북대학교에 입학했으나 인생에 대한 근본적인 회의를 느끼고 중퇴했습니다.

그 후 다시 시험을 치러 서울신학대학교에 입학했습니다. 내면의 문제를 해결하기 위해 신학을 선택한 것이었습니다.

신학을 배웠지만 내면의 갈등은 해결되지 않았습니다. 그래서 상명대학교 정치경영대학원에서 가족치료를 전공했습니다.

수백 번의 워크샵을 직접 체험하며 학문과 실제를 함께 배웠습니다. 그러나 학문만으로는 내면의 문제가 완전히 해결되지 않았습니다.

■ 현장에서 살아온 목회자

대한민국 육군 군목으로 3년간 복무했습니다(7사단, 35사단). 전역 후 포항에서 동해교회를 개척하여 축구선교 사역을 펼쳤으나 3년 만에 중단하게 되었습니다.

목사이지만 교회당 안에서만 교인을 관리하는 것이 아니라, 세상 현장에서 직접 일하고 사람들과 부딪히며 살아왔습니다. 그렇기에 설교와 메시지가 실제적입니다.

■ 어쩔 수 없이 시작한 온라인 교회

서울 송파구에서 새로운 교회를 시작하려 했으나 임대료가 너무 비쌌습니다. 할 수 없이 페이스북으로 먼저 시작했습니다. 처음에는 이단 소리도 들었습니다.

그러나 2013년 11월 25일, 대한민국 최초의 페이스북 기반 온라인 교회 내안에교회가 시작됐습니다.

코로나19 이후 온라인 교회가 일반화되면서 내안에교회는 “앞서간 교회”로 인정받게 됐습니다.

■ 예수는 그리스도 — 모든 것의 답

신학도, 가족치료도, 현장 경험도 내면의 문제를 완전히 해결하지 못했습니다.

그런데 “예수는 그리스도”라는 한 문장이 그 모든 것을 해결했습니다.

이것이 내안에교회의 핵심 메시지입니다.

Senior Pastor Choi Jaegon

Pastor Choi Jaegon is the founder and senior pastor of Naeane Church (Church in Me) — a family therapy specialist, pastoral counselor, and pioneer of SNS-based online church ministry.

■ A Journey Born from Inner Struggle

From an early age, Pastor Choi carried deep feelings of guilt and inferiority. He enrolled at Jeonbuk National University, but faced such profound questions about the meaning of life that he withdrew. He later passed the entrance exam again and enrolled at Seoul Theological University — choosing theology in hopes of resolving his inner turmoil.

Theology alone did not bring resolution. He went on to earn a master’s degree in Family Therapy at Sangmyung University Graduate School (2006), experiencing hundreds of workshops firsthand. Yet even academic training could not fully heal what was broken inside.

■ A Pastor Forged in the Real World

Pastor Choi served as a military chaplain in the Republic of Korea Army for three years (7th Division, 35th Division). After his discharge, he planted Donghae Church in Pohang and led a football mission ministry — which came to an end after three years. Throughout his life, he has not managed people from inside a church building, but has worked alongside ordinary people in the real world. This is why his messages are grounded and practical.

■ An Online Church Born of Necessity

When he attempted to plant a new church in Songpa-gu, Seoul, the rent was simply too high. With no other option, he began on Facebook first. Some called it heresy. But on November 25, 2013, Naeane Church was born — South Korea’s first Facebook-based online church.

After COVID-19 normalized online ministry, Naeane Church came to be recognized as a church that had been ahead of its time.

■ Jesus is the Christ — The Answer to Everything

Theology, family therapy, and years of real-world experience could not fully resolve his inner struggle. Then one sentence did: “Jesus is the Christ.” This is the core message of Naeane Church.
